World No. 6 Karolina Muchova has confirmed that she will not compete at next month's Canadian Open after undergoing a minor surgical procedure, temporarily interrupting the momentum she built with an impressive run to the Wimbledon final.

The Czech star announced that the operation was successful and that she has already started rehabilitation, prioritizing a full recovery before returning to the WTA Tour. Although she did not reveal the specific nature of the medical procedure, she indicated that she expects to remain away from competition for several weeks.

The decision means Muchova will miss what would have been her first appearance at the prestigious tournament in Toronto, a disappointment for both the player and fans following one of the strongest grass-court campaigns of her career.

Earlier this month, the 29-year-old reached the Wimbledon championship match, where she was defeated in three sets by fellow Czech player Linda Noskova.
