Festival organizers defend programming independence

In a public statement, the association responsible for organizing Cabaret Frappé said it understood that the artist's appearance could generate strong reactions. However, organizers maintained that removing performers because of their political opinions would place cultural organizations in the role of ideological arbiters, a position they said they wished to avoid.

The statement reaffirmed the festival's commitment to preserving editorial independence while recognizing the diversity of opinions expressed by audiences and participants.
