Senegal and Morocco Forge Alliance to Harness Tech Hub Potential
A strategic alliance is set to unlock the full potential of Senegal's National Digital Technologies Park (PTN) through the expertise and vision of Morocco. Ewane, a leading player in rental housing and an affiliate of Morocco's esteemed Caisse de Dépôt et Gestion (CDG) Group, has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Senegal's Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications, and Digital Technologies.
The signing ceremony, which took place on Monday at Casanearshore in Dakar, establishes a framework aimed at optimizing the prospects of the Park. This collaboration aligns with King Mohammed VI's vision for sustained South-South cooperation under CDG's African initiative.
The primary objective is to assist Senegal in leveraging the government-developed PTN complex to stimulate economic growth and generate digital jobs. Officials expressed confidence that the shared vision represented by the alliance would catalyze prosperity.
CDG Director General Khalid Safir stated at the ceremony, “This partnership promises to unlock the bright economic future that our digital cooperation makes possible.” Senegalese Minister of Digital Technologies Moussa Bocar Thiam co-led the signing.
The alliance underscores the deepening ties between Morocco and Senegal, as Morocco prioritizes partnerships with African nations in its foreign policy. Through collaboration, Senegal's technology parks can thrive as hubs of innovation and engines of progress.
