Morocco warns Chrome users about security vulnerabilities requiring urgent updates

Morocco’s Directorate General for Information Systems Security has urged users of Google Chrome to update their browsers after several security vulnerabilities were identified in older versions of the software.

The vulnerabilities have been classified as important because they could potentially allow attackers to execute code remotely or disrupt services, creating risks for both users and the systems on which the browser is installed.

The security flaws are identified by the CVE references CVE-2026-19556, CVE-2026-19557, CVE-2026-19558, CVE-2026-19559 and CVE-2026-19560. They affect several previous versions of Google Chrome across different operating systems.

On Windows, the vulnerabilities concern versions earlier than 151.0.7922.137/.138. On Linux, they affect versions preceding 151.0.7922.137, while Mac users should also ensure that they are not running versions older than 151.0.7922.137/.138.

Google has released a security update designed to address the vulnerabilities and close the weaknesses that could potentially be exploited during cyberattacks. Users are therefore encouraged to install the latest available version of Chrome as soon as possible.

The recommendation is particularly important for individuals and organizations that use web browsers to access sensitive information, professional platforms, financial services or other critical digital resources. Keeping software updated is one of the basic measures for reducing exposure to known security threats.
