Ronaldo and Georgina choose separate property regime after marriage
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have reportedly chosen a separate property regime as part of their marriage agreement, keeping their individual assets and finances legally distinct following their wedding.
According to a Portuguese report based on their marriage documentation, the couple signed a prenuptial agreement one day before completing their civil marriage. Under the arrangement, each partner retains ownership and control of assets acquired before the marriage as well as property and income obtained individually during their married life.
The agreement does not necessarily prevent the couple from owning assets together. Property purchased jointly can be held by both partners, depending on the terms of the transaction and applicable Portuguese law.
The reported arrangement provides a clear legal framework for managing the couple’s substantial personal assets while allowing each individual to maintain financial independence. Such agreements are commonly used by couples with significant personal wealth or complex international business interests.
The marriage documents also reportedly indicate that both Ronaldo and Rodríguez retained their existing names following the civil ceremony.
The couple publicly confirmed their marriage through social media, sharing an image of their wedding rings accompanied by a short message featuring the initials “C G.”
Ronaldo, one of the world’s most commercially successful footballers, has accumulated significant wealth through his football career, sponsorship agreements, business ventures and investments. Rodríguez has also developed her own career and commercial activities in fashion and social media.
The reported financial arrangement highlights the couple’s decision to establish clear boundaries between their individual assets while leaving room for joint ownership where both partners choose to invest together.
