Polish hotel group to reward couples who conceive babies during their stay
Poland is facing a significant demographic challenge, with the population declining by nearly one million since 2015. Like many European countries, it has recorded a sharp fall in birth rates, down by around 40% over the past three decades. In response, the Polish hotel chain Arche has announced a program aimed at encouraging couples to have children.
The initiative, called “Arche Generations”, will reward couples who can demonstrate that their child was conceived during a stay in one of the group’s 23 hotels, conference centers, or residential properties. Rewards include free family celebrations, such as baptisms or other events.
In addition, couples who purchase an apartment from Arche and later welcome a baby after moving in will receive a financial bonus of 10,000 zlotys (around €2,345). The program specifies that it applies only to heterosexual couples, where at least one partner holds Polish citizenship and resides in the country.
Arche also plans to extend incentives to its employees who have children. According to Poland’s social security office, in 2024 the number of births was 157,000 lower than the number of deaths, a trend expected to continue in the coming years. With a population of 37.4 million, Poland is seeking innovative ways to confront its demographic decline.
