Lebanon reports over 2,500 dead in Israeli strikes since March 2

Since the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah on March 2, Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon have resulted in 2,509 deaths and 7,755 injuries, according to a statement released by Lebanon’s Ministry of Health on Sunday.

Although a ceasefire came into effect on April 16, authorities report that attacks have continued to cause casualties across several regions of the country, worsening an already severe humanitarian situation.

The province of Nabatiyeh has recorded the highest toll, with 1,012 deaths and 3,099 injuries. It is followed by South Lebanon, which has reported 951 fatalities and 2,945 injuries. The Mount Lebanon region, which includes Beirut’s southern suburbs, has registered 253 deaths and 841 wounded.

Among the victims are approximately 177 minors under the age of 18, along with 709 injured children and adolescents. The report also states that 277 adult women have been killed since the beginning of the escalation.

Medical personnel have also been heavily affected, with at least 100 healthcare workers killed. In addition, 16 hospitals have been damaged and four medical facilities have been forced to shut down, further straining Lebanon’s healthcare system amid ongoing violence.
