Annual special vehicle tax payment deadline set for January 31
Morocco’s Directorate General of Taxes has reminded vehicle owners that the deadline to pay the Annual Special Vehicle Tax for the current year is set for January 31, 2026.
The tax applies to owners of vehicles whose total authorized weight, or maximum authorized weight with a trailer, does not exceed 9,000 kilograms. According to the tax authority, compliance within the legal deadline is essential to avoid penalties.
For vehicles registered for the first time during the year, the tax must be paid within 60 days following the date on which the application for the vehicle registration card is submitted.
The tax administration also emphasized that payment can be made free of charge through several digital channels, including bank ATMs, online banking platforms, and mobile banking applications. These options aim to simplify procedures and encourage timely payment.
Once the payment is completed, taxpayers can download the official payment certificate directly from the dedicated online portal, ensuring easy access to proof of compliance.
