US diplomatic mission in Morocco resumes normal operations
The United States diplomatic mission in Morocco has returned to normal operations following the signing of the 2026 federal budget by President Donald Trump.
In an official statement on Wednesday, the US Embassy in Morocco confirmed that all diplomatic activities have resumed after the enactment of the H.R. 7148 law, part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, which ensures federal government funding.
During a temporary budget interruption earlier this week, the embassy had limited public updates to urgent security and safety information. However, essential services, including American citizen assistance and scheduled visa services at the US Consulate General in Casablanca, continued without disruption.
The resumption of full operations enables the embassy to carry out key functions that support bilateral relations, including visa issuance, consular services for US citizens, and cooperation in economic, security, and cultural sectors.
This development is particularly significant for Moroccan residents seeking visas for tourism, education, or work, as well as for Americans living in Morocco who rely on consular assistance.
