Moroccan consulates in Spain extend hours to improve citizen services
Moroccan diplomatic missions in Spain have implemented new measures to enhance services for the Moroccan community living in the country. The embassy and its twelve general consulates have emphasized their commitment to prioritizing the well-being and interests of citizens abroad. A recent coordination meeting between Morocco's central ministry and its consular network resulted in strategies aimed at improving the efficiency and accessibility of consular services.
As part of these changes, consular offices will now remain open until 6 p.m. on weekdays, extending their previous mid-afternoon closing time. Additionally, consular teams will be available on weekends and public holidays to assist individuals with scheduled appointments, enabling them to complete their procedures without unnecessary delays. Continuous alertness among consular staff has also been mandated to address urgent needs swiftly.
The decision to extend consular hours follows increased demand for services, driven in part by recent policy changes in Spain. To meet this demand, consulates are expediting essential procedures, including the authentication of powers of attorney and the issuance of certificates required for legal matters. Moroccan authorities are urging citizens to utilize official channels for their administrative needs, thereby avoiding delays caused by intermediaries.
