Trump warns Tehran of “Unprecedented” military response if Iran retaliates
US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States would respond with “unprecedented force” if Iran carries out retaliatory attacks following recent American and Israeli strikes.
In a message posted on his platform Truth Social, Trump said Washington was prepared to act decisively should Tehran follow through on threats of further military action. He cautioned that any attempt to strike US interests would trigger a response unlike any seen before.
The statement comes after a coordinated bombing campaign by the United States and Israel that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, according to Iranian state media. The military buildup preceding the strikes was described by observers as one of the most significant deployments in the region since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Iran has since reported launching retaliatory operations, with strikes claimed in parts of the Gulf region, including areas near strategic military installations. While details remain limited, the escalation has heightened concerns about a broader regional confrontation.
Trump indicated that US military operations would continue “as long as necessary,” framing the campaign as part of a broader strategy to counter Tehran’s influence. He also suggested that the death of Khamenei could represent a turning point for the Iranian population, calling it a moment of potential political change.
International analysts warn that the exchange of threats increases the risk of sustained conflict, with possible implications for global energy markets and regional stability. Diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis appear fragile as rhetoric intensifies on both sides.
