Online pornography case uncovered after bank complaint in Kenitra
A seemingly ordinary banking complaint in Kenitra has led to the dismantling of an international network accused of producing and distributing pornographic content online. Six individuals, including one woman, were brought before the public prosecutor of the city’s First Instance Court following a detailed investigation by Moroccan authorities.
The case began when a young woman reported an unauthorized withdrawal of 15,000 dirhams from her bank account. During the cyber investigation, officers uncovered explicit videos and images filmed in an apartment in Kenitra.
To the investigators’ surprise, the complainant herself was later identified as one of the main suspects. She allegedly participated in creating and distributing adult content on foreign digital platforms in exchange for payment. Four other individuals were reportedly involved in filming, editing, and sharing the material.
According to preliminary findings, the group operated across several neighborhoods in Kenitra, luring clients before recording and selling the explicit videos. The profits were allegedly divided among participants based on their recorded “performances.”
The defendants are facing multiple charges, including incitement to prostitution, production and dissemination of pornographic material, public indecency, theft, fraud, and breach of trust. They have been placed in pretrial detention pending further investigation.
Digital forensic experts from Morocco’s National Security Laboratory are continuing to analyze seized materials to trace the origin of the videos and identify other potential accomplices. The court hearing has been scheduled for November 13.
