HM King Mohammed VI Sends Congratulations to Xi Jinping

His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the occasion of China's national holiday. The Sovereign expressed his wishes for health and happiness to the Chinese president, as well as progress and prosperity for the Chinese people.

Beyond this occasion, the royal message highlights the depth of relations between Morocco and China and the willingness of both countries to continue their rapprochement in various fields.

A Relationship Based on Trust and Cooperation

HM the King emphasized the strength of the friendship ties between Rabat and Beijing, as well as the ongoing development of their cooperation. This dynamic is based on principles of trust, solidarity, and mutual respect.

The Sovereign also recalled the importance of the advancements made since the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries in 2016. This milestone created a framework aimed at expanding areas of cooperation and strengthening exchanges between the two partners.

Ten years after its launch, this partnership continues to be presented as an important axis of the Kingdom's foreign relations. Recent initiatives have particularly highlighted the development of political, economic, trade, cultural, and human relations between the two countries.

Economic Development at the Heart of Prospects

In his message, HM the King also emphasized the opportunities offered by the complementarity between the Moroccan and Chinese economies. Morocco aims to continue joint projects based on knowledge transfer, innovation, and skill development.

The Kingdom's positioning as a gateway to Africa is highlighted in this perspective to deepen exchanges with China. The stated goal is to promote the emergence of structural projects that meet the interests of both peoples and contribute to the development of South-South cooperation.

This orientation is part of a bilateral relationship that the authorities of both countries have regularly emphasized as strategic. In 2022, during the first Sino-Arab Summit in Riyadh, HM the King had already expressed his satisfaction with Moroccan-Chinese cooperation and the common willingness to further develop these relations.

Coordination Called to Continue

The royal message also allocates space for political coordination between Rabat and Beijing. In light of the transformations occurring on the international scene, the Sovereign reaffirmed Morocco's willingness to continue consultations with China on issues of common interest.

This consultation is presented as a means to contribute to efforts for international peace and security while defending the principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of States.

The message addressed to Xi Jinping thus reflects Morocco's desire to strengthen a bilateral relationship that is set to continue its development, combining economic cooperation, human exchanges, innovation, and coordination on major international issues.
