Casablanca sees 250% surge in bookings from Canadian travelers
Casablanca is attracting sharply greater interest from Canadian travelers, with bookings to Morocco’s largest city rising by 250% between October 2025 and August 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.
The increase was highlighted by TravelPulse Canada, which cited data from Canadian online travel agency FlightHub. According to the figures, Casablanca recorded the strongest booking growth among the destinations examined in FlightHub’s annual Horizons Unveiled report.
The figures point to a notable shift in travel demand toward Morocco, with Casablanca gaining visibility among Canadian consumers searching for international destinations.
Morocco gains ground in changing travel patterns
FlightHub’s annual report draws on search, booking and pricing data from its Canadian and American customer base to identify evolving travel trends. While destination popularity is measured through searches, booking-related trends are based on completed reservations.
Casablanca’s performance stood out against a broader group of destinations that also experienced substantial increases in bookings during the period covered by the report.
Costa Rica recorded a 145% increase, followed by Aruba at 118%. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic posted growth of 109%, while Hanoi, Vietnam, registered a 98% rise.
The figures place Casablanca within a broader international movement in which travelers are showing stronger interest in destinations outside their traditional travel patterns.
Younger travelers contribute to evolving demand
The FlightHub analysis also points to changes in the profile and behavior of Canadian travelers. Among the trends identified is a growing presence of younger generations within the international travel market, alongside changing preferences for overseas destinations.
For Casablanca, the sharp rise in bookings provides an indication of increased commercial interest rather than simply higher levels of online curiosity. The distinction is significant because FlightHub uses searches to measure destination popularity, while its booking figures reflect reservations actually made by customers.
Casablanca’s position in the 2026 data therefore illustrates how interest in Morocco is translating into concrete travel activity among Canadian consumers.
Casablanca strengthens its international tourism appeal
The surge comes as Casablanca continues to serve as one of Morocco’s principal international gateways and a major urban center connecting the country with overseas markets.
The latest FlightHub figures do not by themselves explain why bookings have increased so substantially. However, they provide a measurable indication of the city’s growing presence in the Canadian travel market during the period analyzed.
For Morocco’s tourism sector, the data offer another signal of the diversification of international demand, with Casablanca emerging as a destination attracting growing attention from travelers based in North America.
