Hamid Bentahar has been re-elected president of the Marrakech-Safi Regional Tourism Council (CRT Marrakech-Safi), securing a renewed mandate focused on strengthening the region’s tourism appeal and supporting the development of its wider tourism ecosystem.

The decision reflects, according to the council, a shared commitment among tourism professionals, elected representatives and institutional stakeholders to maintain the momentum behind the promotion of Marrakech-Safi as a major destination.

The renewed leadership is expected to continue efforts aimed at supporting the implementation of strategic projects across the region while reinforcing cooperation between the various stakeholders involved in tourism development.

A renewed focus on destination development

The CRT Marrakech-Safi said Bentahar’s re-election represents a collective decision to pursue an ambitious approach to promoting the destination and consolidating its position within Morocco’s tourism landscape.

The council highlighted the importance of coordinated action between elected officials, public institutions and private-sector professionals. Such cooperation is presented as a key component in accompanying major tourism projects and strengthening the regional ecosystem surrounding the sector.

Beyond Marrakech itself, the approach encompasses the broader Marrakech-Safi region, with its diverse tourism assets and development potential.

Recognition of work carried out by the council

During the assembly, members also acknowledged the work undertaken by Bentahar and the members of the council’s Bureau to promote Marrakech and its surrounding region.

Their efforts were recognized in connection with initiatives aimed at increasing the destination’s visibility and supporting its tourism development.

The renewed mandate therefore comes with an emphasis on continuity, partnership and the pursuit of projects capable of contributing to the long-term development of tourism across Marrakech-Safi.
