Morocco's Exceptional Success in International Organizations in 2023

Morocco has concluded a remarkable year of triumphs in the international arena, securing a 100% success rate in all 46 bids submitted across 30 diverse organizations in 2023. This accomplishment not only underscores Morocco's rising influence on the global stage but also reflects the effectiveness of its proactive and strategic approach to global affairs, guided by the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

In the face of pressing global challenges, Morocco has emerged as a steadfast advocate for multilateralism, solidarity, and pragmatism. The success in securing a myriad of high-level positions this year speaks volumes about the trust the international community places in Morocco's expertise, experience, and competence.

Politically, Morocco has made significant strides by gaining positions in crucial UN agencies and assuming key leadership roles in esteemed organizations such as the Arab League, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Francophonie.

In the realm of nuclear counterterrorism and disarmament, Morocco has been re-elected to lead influential decision-making bodies. On the human rights front, the Kingdom has joined the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination while maintaining seats on committees addressing migrant worker rights and the Human Rights Council.

Morocco's economic prowess has been reaffirmed through executive board appointments at prominent entities like the International Maritime Organization, World Food Programme, and UN Habitat. Additionally, advisory positions at WIPO, UNIDO, UNCTAD, WTO, and more solidify Morocco's role in shaping global policies on trade, development, and intellectual property.

Culturally, Morocco has expanded its influence with new advisory roles at UNESCO. Socially, the country has secured seats at the Commission for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, and the International Narcotics Control Board. In the sports arena, Morocco has gained representation in numerous regional bodies, particularly across Africa.

Guided by King Mohammed VI's directive to "strengthen the performance of national diplomacy," Morocco's foreign policy apparatus is committed to sustaining this momentum. Through the optimized deployment of national talent in international organizations, Morocco aims to contribute significantly to the enhancement of multilateral efforts addressing today's most pressing global challenges.
