Morocco Recognized for Contributions at 48th Arab Police Conference
Morocco was commended for its leadership in advancing regional and international security during the 48th Conference of Arab Police and Security Chiefs, held in Tunis. The event highlighted Morocco’s proactive measures in fostering collaborative strategies against emerging security threats.
Representing Morocco, Mohammed Dkhissi, Director of Judicial Police and Vice President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) for Africa, underscored the importance of enhancing security coordination. He described the conference as an essential platform for developing innovative mechanisms to combat cross-border crimes and adapt to rapid technological changes.
Dkhissi also discussed "Iblah," a digital platform introduced by Morocco’s Secretary Directorate in June. The platform facilitates secure and immediate digital reporting for law enforcement agencies, illustrating Morocco’s commitment to integrating technology in addressing contemporary security challenges.
The conference tackled critical issues, including cybercrime and trafficking in arms and humans. Interpol’s President, Ahmed Naser al Raisi, lauded Morocco’s leadership, particularly through its Rabat-based National Central Bureau, and congratulated Dkhissi on his election as Vice President of Interpol Africa.
Mohammed bin Ali Kuman, Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, stressed the growing complexity of security challenges in the Arab world. He highlighted the need for collective action to address pressing concerns such as drug trafficking and cyber threats.
Morocco’s active role at the conference reflects its dedication to strengthening regional security partnerships and developing innovative tools to counter evolving threats. The country’s contributions continue to set benchmarks for cooperative security efforts in the Arab world.
