Marrakech to host university theatre festival celebrating creativity and expression
The city of Marrakech will host a new edition of the university theatre festival from April 7 to 9, bringing together student talent from across the country. Organized by Cadi Ayyad University, the event aims to highlight the role of theatre as a platform for expression and critical thinking.
Held under the theme “University theatre: a laboratory of expression and awareness-building,” the festival seeks to provide students with a creative space to explore artistic ideas and develop their skills. It reflects a broader effort to promote cultural and artistic activities within academic institutions.
The program will include workshops led by professionals and artists, covering areas such as improvisation, dramaturgy, autobiographical theatre, and stage performance. These sessions are designed to enhance both technical abilities and creative confidence among participants.
In addition to practical training, the festival will feature conferences addressing the importance of theatre in shaping social awareness and promoting human values. Discussions will focus on how student theatre can contribute to intellectual growth and cultural dialogue.
The event will also pay tribute to national figures from the artistic and media fields, recognizing their contributions to Morocco’s cultural development.
By organizing this festival, Cadi Ayyad University reaffirms its commitment to fostering creativity and strengthening the link between academic learning and cultural practice. For three days, Marrakech will become a vibrant stage where student expression meets artistic reflection.
