Fez, an ancient city steeped in history, is set to host a remarkable event on February 25th: the Fez Running Festival. Bringing together over 2,000 runners for a 5-10 kilometer race, this festival promises a unique blend of athleticism and cultural immersion as participants weave through the city's historic streets and boulevards.

Organized by the Dila Athletic Association, the festival goes beyond a typical marathon experience. It celebrates the rich heritage of Morocco's spiritual capital while promoting health and wellness among its participants. The event caters not only to adults but also includes a 2-kilometer Kids Run the day prior, ensuring that families can partake in the festivities together.

Starting from Prince Heritier Avenue, the route showcases Fez's iconic landmarks, including the Palace Gate, Bab Boujloud, and Bab Al Makina. Runners will traverse major roadways like Essdiens Boulevard, offering spectators ample opportunities to cheer them on.

Described by organizers as "a celebration of running and history," the Fez Running Festival aims to create a magical and festive atmosphere. It's not just about personal triumphs; it's about fostering memorable shared experiences that invigorate the entire city.

Moreover, the festival serves as a platform for health outreach initiatives. Partnering with associations focused on chronic diseases like diabetes, bowel cancer, and breast cancer, the event advocates for healthy lifestyles nationwide. By leveraging the excitement of the race, these organizations aim to promote well-being and awareness within Moroccan communities.

As the third edition of this rapidly growing event, the 2024 Fez Running Festival promises to be the grandest yet.
