Amazon announces major $35 billion investment plan in India by 2030
Amazon revealed on Wednesday that it will expand its presence in India with a new investment package exceeding $35 billion by the year 2030. This commitment adds to the roughly $40 billion the company has already injected into the Indian market over the past years.
According to the company, the upcoming investment will focus on three strategic areas: advancing artificial intelligence technologies, boosting Indian exports, and supporting job creation. The initiative will span both physical infrastructure, such as logistics and transportation networks, and digital systems, including data centers and online payment platforms.
The announcement closely follows a similar move by Microsoft, which unveiled a $17.5 billion investment in India over the next four years.
As the world’s fifth-largest economy, India is projected to have more than 900 million internet users by the end of the year, reinforcing its position as one of the fastest-growing digital markets globally.
