US illegal immigration arrivals drop by 90%
The number of illegal immigrants arriving at the southern borders of the United States has decreased by 90% since the new administration took office, according to recently released data.
On average, only 359 illegal migrants have been apprehended per day since January 21, marking the lowest recorded number since 1968, as reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The new statistics reveal that only 3,953 illegal migrants were arrested between January 21 and February 11, with hundreds being deported.
In a Thursday interview on Fox News, CBP Director Michael Banks noted a 52% increase in anti-illegal immigration operations.
Moreover, the number of arrests at the border has dropped from 10,000 in June to just 1,500 individuals.
The President Donald Trump made combating illegal immigration a key focus during his campaign, frequently promising to carry out the “largest deportation operation” in history, targeting “millions” of illegal immigrants.
