Zakaria El Ouahdi is about to take a significant step in his career. The 24-year-old Moroccan right-back is set to leave KRC Genk to join Hamburg, with whom he is expected to sign for the next five seasons.

A transfer that is becoming clearer

Zakaria El Ouahdi's departure to Germany is now almost confirmed. The player successfully completed a second medical examination on Monday morning, the last crucial step before finalizing his arrival at the German club.

The defender of the Atlas Lions has been monitored by Hamburg for several weeks. After playing in Belgium, he is now looking forward to discovering the Bundesliga, a league known for its intensity and physical demands.

This arrival could provide the Moroccan player with a new environment to continue his development and gain further experience at the highest European level.

A deal worth up to 12 million euros

The operation represents a fixed amount of 8 million euros. This sum could be supplemented by up to 4 million euros in bonuses based on various objectives related to the transfer and the player's performance.

KRC Genk is also expected to retain a share of the benefits from any potential future transaction. The Belgian club negotiated a significant percentage on a future resale of the Moroccan international.

For Genk, this operation thus enhances the player's value during his time at the club and allows them to recover a significant sum while maintaining a financial interest in his future development.

A new showcase for the Atlas Lion

In Hamburg, Zakaria El Ouahdi will have the opportunity to regularly compete against some of the best German teams. This step also represents an important challenge in his journey with the Moroccan national team.

After his experience in Belgium, the defender will need to quickly adapt to the demands of the Bundesliga and earn his place in his new club. His profile and versatility on the right side will be particularly scrutinized in this new environment.

With a contract set until 2031, Hamburg seems to be betting on the long term to support the Moroccan player's progression.
