Swedish Aerospace Company Trelleborg Invests €11 Million in Morocco

Swedish manufacturing powerhouse Trelleborg has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art industrial unit at Morocco's Midparc industrial platform near Casablanca. The multimillion-euro investment is set to bolster Morocco's growing aerospace sector and further establish the country as an emerging force in the global aerospace industry.

The agreement, officially signed on Monday, marks an €11 million investment by Trelleborg to build a cutting-edge facility covering 7,800 square meters, with 5,100 square meters dedicated to advanced production. The project is expected to create between 150 and 200 direct jobs, offering a substantial employment boost to the local economy.

Trelleborg, a global leader in polymer-based sealing solutions for the aerospace sector, selected Morocco for its latest manufacturing site, underscoring the country's increasing attractiveness as an investment destination for industry leaders.

Morocco's Minister of Industry, Ryad Mezzour, hailed the project as a significant achievement, noting that it represents the first Swedish investment in Morocco's aerospace manufacturing sector. "This project will strengthen Morocco's industrial competitiveness and promote substantial local integration," Mezzour said.

Hamid Benbrahim El Andaloussi, president of Midparc, welcomed Trelleborg to the industrial platform, praising the company's advanced technologies in polymer techniques. "Trelleborg's expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring aircraft safety and durability by safeguarding aerospace equipment and engines," El Andaloussi remarked.

Gordon Roper, president of Trelleborg Aerospace's commercial unit, reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting Morocco's burgeoning aerospace industry. "This investment is a testament to our confidence in Morocco's growing aerospace ecosystem," Roper said.

As Morocco's aeronautic industry continues to expand and attract global players, this strategic partnership between Trelleborg and Midparc represents a significant step toward realizing the country's vision of becoming a leader in aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, and operations.
