Morocco-Turkey: Turkish exports exceed 2.4 billion dollars in seven months

Trade between Morocco and Turkey continues to progress in 2026. In the first seven months of the year, Turkish exports to the Kingdom surpassed 2.4 billion dollars, confirming the significance of the Moroccan market in Ankara's commercial strategy in Africa.

Morocco, an increasingly important market for Turkey

From January to July 2026, Turkey exported nearly 2.43 billion dollars worth of goods to Morocco, according to data from the Turkish Exporters Council reported by Anadolu Agency.

This amount represents an 11.7% increase year-on-year. This development places Morocco among the key African markets for Turkish products and reflects the dynamism of trade relations between the two countries.

The Moroccan performance comes as Turkish exports to the entire African continent are also accelerating.

Double-digit growth towards Africa

During the same period, Turkey's exports to Africa reached approximately 13.3 billion dollars, marking an annual increase of 12.6%.

Thus, Morocco represents a significant share of these sales, with a volume exceeding that recorded in several other major markets on the continent.

This trend illustrates Morocco's growing role in Turkey's trade with Africa, as Ankara seeks to strengthen its economic ties on the continent.

Morocco outpaces several major African markets

The figures for the first seven months of 2026 reveal significant gaps between the main African outlets for Turkish products.

Exports to Algeria were around 1.09 billion dollars, down 18.8% year-on-year. Morocco thus shows a significantly higher volume of purchases of Turkish products than its Maghreb neighbor.

Egypt, on the other hand, is at a comparable level to Morocco, with over 2.3 billion dollars in Turkish exports, up 26.1%.

Libya absorbed nearly 1.59 billion dollars worth of Turkish products, while exports to Tunisia exceeded 720 million dollars.

A strategic market in Turkish-African economic relations

These results reinforce Morocco's position among Turkey's preferred trading partners on the African continent. The increase recorded in the first seven months of the year coincides with the overall growth of Turkish exports to Africa.

For Ankara, the Kingdom appears to be a particularly dynamic market. For Rabat, the evolution of imports from Turkey fits within economic relations that continue to expand.
