Samsung launches Galaxy A27 5G with six years of software support

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A27 5G, expanding its popular mid-range smartphone lineup with upgraded hardware, enhanced security features, and one of the longest software support commitments in its category.

Designed to succeed the Galaxy A26 5G, the new device combines improved performance, a brighter display, and advanced camera capabilities while reinforcing Samsung's strategy of offering long-term software maintenance across a wider range of smartphones.

The Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1,400 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, providing increased durability against everyday scratches and accidental drops.

Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, built on a 4 nm architecture and paired with an Adreno 710 GPU. The device is available with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, while a microSD card slot allows storage expansion of up to 2 TB.

The phone ships with Android 16 and Samsung's One UI 8.5 interface. One of its standout features is Samsung's commitment to providing six years of Android operating system upgrades and security updates, extending the device's lifespan and improving long-term value for consumers.

To strengthen data protection, Samsung has also integrated its Knox and Knox Vault security platforms, which are designed to safeguard sensitive personal information against both physical and digital threats.

For photography, the Galaxy A27 5G is equipped with a triple rear camera system, led by a 50 MP main sensor featuring optical image stabilization (OIS). The setup also includes an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro lens, while a 12 MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

The smartphone houses a 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W fast charging support. Additional features include 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, and IP64 certification for resistance to dust and water splashes.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy A27 5G will be available in Black, Blue, Light Green, and Light Pink. The smartphone is expected to reach global markets in July, with a starting price of approximately $350 (€350), positioning it as a competitive option in the mid-range smartphone segment.
