Israel Unveils First National Pavilion at Marrakech Air Show
Israel has made its debut with a national pavilion at the Marrakech Air Show, highlighting a broad portfolio of defense and aerospace technologies and signaling a new phase in industrial cooperation between Israel and Morocco.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced the opening of the pavilion on Thursday, October 8, through a post on LinkedIn. The international aerospace exhibition is being held from October 7 to 10 at the Royal Moroccan Air Force base in Marrakech.
Eight Israeli defense companies represented
The Israeli defense delegation is being led by SIBAT, the International Defense Cooperation Directorate of the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Eight Israeli companies are participating under the national pavilion, showcasing technologies that the ministry describes as having been tested in operational environments.
The exhibits include loitering munitions, artificial intelligence-powered robotic systems, autonomous navigation technologies for unmanned aircraft, laser-guidance solutions for FPV drones and satellite-based communications systems.
The participation goes beyond the national pavilion. Major Israeli defense groups, including Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, are also presenting their capabilities at the exhibition.
Their displays cover a wide range of sectors, from aerospace and land and naval systems to space technologies, intelligence, cybersecurity and digital solutions.
A new platform for defense cooperation
Israel's presence at the Marrakech Air Show reflects its broader effort to expand defense exports and develop international industrial partnerships. According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, such cooperation is intended to contribute to the development of Israel's defense capabilities while supporting its foreign policy objectives and strengthening the country's defense industry and wider economy.
During the exhibition, Israeli representatives have also held meetings with foreign delegations and government officials, creating opportunities to discuss potential cooperation and technological partnerships.
First participation since diplomatic normalization
The Israeli pavilion carries particular diplomatic significance because it represents Israel's first participation in the Marrakech Air Show since Morocco and Israel restored diplomatic relations in December 2020.
The normalization took place within the framework of the Abraham Accords, a process brokered with United States involvement. Since then, defense and security cooperation has become one of the areas of expanding bilateral engagement.
The Marrakech exhibition therefore provides not only a platform for Israeli companies to present advanced technologies, but also a visible setting for the development of industrial and institutional ties between Israel, Morocco and international partners.
