Royal Air Maroc opens new air base in Tétouan to boost northern Morocco connectivity

Casablanca, January 7, 2026 – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has inaugurated a new air base at Tétouan – Sania R’mel Airport as part of its ongoing expansion plan, strengthening the airline’s presence in northern Morocco and improving regional connectivity.

The new base, established in collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), will allow RAM to operate direct flights from Tétouan to major European destinations, including Paris, London Gatwick, Brussels, Barcelona, Madrid, and Malaga. Domestically, the airline will enhance connections between Tétouan and Casablanca by adding three weekly flights to complement the existing services on Fridays and Sundays.

All flights will be operated using Embraer 190 aircraft, modern and comfortable planes suited for these routes. The schedules have been specifically designed to offer travelers greater flexibility and optimized connections to RAM’s international network via Casablanca.

“This new base reflects our commitment to developing tourism in Morocco. It will better connect the northern region with key European markets and enhance the area’s attractiveness for international travelers,” said Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc.

Achraf Fayda, Director General of ONMT, added that the initiative aligns with Morocco’s strategy to promote balanced, sustainable, and high-value tourism growth by improving accessibility and connectivity with strategic European markets.

Tickets for flights from Tétouan are available for purchase starting January 7, 2026, through RAM’s website, call centers, commercial offices, and partner travel agencies.
