Royal Air Maroc launches first direct flight between Casablanca and Los Angeles

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced the launch of a new direct flight connecting Casablanca and Los Angeles, starting on June 7, 2026. This marks the first direct link between Africa and the U.S. Pacific coast, cutting travel time to approximately 12 hours. The service will be operated three times per week using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Flights from Casablanca are scheduled for Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 04:00 and arriving in Los Angeles at 08:20 local time. The return flights leave Los Angeles at 10:20, landing in Casablanca the following day at 05:25.

The new route is designed to meet the growing demand for intercontinental travel, particularly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, serving Moroccan and African diasporas, American tourists, business travelers, and sports fans from Morocco, Africa, and Europe.

Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM, highlighted that this initiative strengthens Morocco’s visibility in the U.S. tourism market, one of the largest sources of international travelers, and consolidates Casablanca’s role as a major aviation hub linking Africa, Europe, and America.

This expansion is part of RAM’s strategic development plan, which focuses on fleet enhancement, opening new routes, and increasing international and domestic flight frequencies. RAM already operates flights to key North American destinations including New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto, and has increased frequencies on long-haul routes to São Paulo, Miami, Washington, and Dubai.
