Morocco Launches Dislog Basketball League to Boost Professionalism and National Visibility
Moroccan basketball is entering a new phase of development with the launch of the Dislog Basketball League (DBL), a competition backed by a strategic partnership between the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB) and DISLOG Group. The initiative aims to strengthen the sport's professional foundations, increase its media exposure and create new opportunities for clubs and players across the country.
The partnership was officially unveiled on Monday, October 19, 2026, during a press conference at the Dawliz Hotel in Rabat-Salé. The event featured the signing of an agreement between the two partners and the presentation of the league's official logo, marking the beginning of a collaboration designed to support Moroccan basketball over the coming years.
The agreement covers four sporting seasons, from 2026–2027 through 2029–2030, establishing a long-term framework for developing the competition and expanding its appeal.
A long-term strategy for Moroccan basketball
The creation of the DBL reflects a shared ambition to give domestic basketball a stronger competitive and commercial profile. Through the partnership, the FRMBB and DISLOG Group intend to improve the visibility of both men's and women's competitions while placing greater emphasis on clubs, emerging talent and the experience of supporters.
Media exposure and commercial attractiveness are central to this strategy. By developing a more recognizable league identity, the partners aim to increase interest among audiences and create new opportunities for businesses seeking to invest in Moroccan sport.
The four-season agreement also provides a longer-term perspective for initiatives intended to support the sport beyond individual matches and tournaments.
'Rise Together': A shared identity for the sport
The league's new identity is built around the slogan “RISE TOGETHER – نرتقي معًا”, expressing the ambition to bring together the different stakeholders in Moroccan basketball.
The message extends beyond branding. It reflects a commitment to collective progress, talent development and stronger connections between clubs, players, supporters and commercial partners.
The DBL also intends to expand basketball's social impact through educational, community-based and solidarity initiatives. Young people, including girls and boys from different regions of Morocco, are among the intended beneficiaries.
These initiatives could help broaden access to the sport and position basketball as a vehicle for inclusion, personal development and new opportunities for younger generations.
ASS versus FAR marks the launch on the court
The announcement was accompanied by a sporting fixture intended to bring the league's new identity directly to fans. At 7 p.m. on October 19, the Association Sportive de Salé (ASS) was scheduled to face the Forces Armées Royales (FAR) at Bouazzaoui Hall in Salé.
The game formed part of the launch programme, connecting the institutional partnership with the competition itself. It also offered an opportunity to showcase the DBL brand in a setting bringing together players, clubs and supporters.
The fixture adds a sporting dimension to a launch primarily focused on the league's future structure, positioning and ambitions.
Building a broader platform for the next generation
For the FRMBB and DISLOG Group, the DBL is intended to become more than a competition calendar. The project seeks to create a stronger platform for players, increase the sport's public profile and encourage wider participation throughout Morocco.
Its longer-term impact will depend on how effectively the partnership translates its ambitions into sustained investment, stronger competition, improved exposure and meaningful development opportunities for clubs and young athletes.
With the 2026–2027 season marking the start of the agreement, the league now has a four-season framework in which to pursue those objectives.
Under the banner “RISE TOGETHER – نرتقي معًا,” the DBL sets out a collective vision for Moroccan basketball, linking sporting performance with professional development and a broader role in society.
