BANK OF AFRICA Strengthens Its Commitment to Morocco’s SMEs
BANK OF AFRICA has reaffirmed its commitment to Morocco’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of combining financial solutions with practical business support to help very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (VSMEs) achieve sustainable growth.
The bank’s commitment was highlighted at the forum “Entrepreneurs in Motion: Turning Priorities into Action,” organized by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI. The event took place at Mohammed VI University of Sciences and Health (UM6SS), bringing together stakeholders interested in strengthening the country’s business environment.
Rethinking the Challenges Facing SMEs
BANK OF AFRICA participated in a dedicated session entitled “VSMEs: Is Financing Really the Problem?” The discussion provided an opportunity to examine the obstacles facing smaller businesses and to consider whether access to credit alone is sufficient to unlock their growth potential.
The bank highlighted the need to approach business financing within a broader framework that also takes into account managerial support, organizational structure and long-term development. These factors can play an important role in helping smaller companies improve their operations, strengthen their competitiveness and respond to changing market conditions.
The discussion also underscored the value of closer cooperation between financial institutions, public authorities and business representatives. Such collaboration can help identify the practical difficulties entrepreneurs face and develop responses that better reflect the realities of their businesses.
Building a More Resilient Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
For BANK OF AFRICA, supporting Moroccan enterprises involves more than providing access to financial products. Its participation in the forum reflects an approach focused on identifying business needs and facilitating access to financing and complementary support mechanisms.
By engaging with the wider entrepreneurial community, the bank aims to contribute to initiatives that strengthen the resilience of Moroccan companies and improve their capacity to expand. This approach also places SMEs at the centre of broader discussions about national competitiveness and economic development.
VSMEs occupy an important position in Morocco’s economic landscape, making their ability to secure appropriate financing, professional support and sustainable growth opportunities a key consideration for the country’s business community.
BANK OF AFRICA’s involvement in the CGEM forum reinforces its stated intention to work alongside entrepreneurs and institutional partners to help address these challenges. The broader objective is to foster an environment in which Moroccan businesses can develop their capabilities, seize new opportunities and make a lasting contribution to the Kingdom’s economy.
