Marionnaud enters exclusive sale talks with Bogart Shareholder David Konckier
French beauty retailer Marionnaud could soon change ownership after Hong Kong-based conglomerate CK Hutchison confirmed that it has entered exclusive discussions with David Konckier, the principal shareholder of cosmetics and fragrance group Bogart, over a potential acquisition.
The transaction remains at the consultation stage, with CK Hutchison stating that it has launched the legally required employee information and consultation procedures related to the proposed change of ownership.
Bogart also confirmed the discussions, noting that David Konckier is pursuing the potential acquisition in a personal capacity, rather than through the publicly listed cosmetics group itself.
During the negotiation period, CK Hutchison emphasized that Marionnaud will continue operating as usual, with no changes to its day-to-day business, store operations or customer services.
Marionnaud remains one of Europe's leading selective perfume and beauty retailers. According to publicly available corporate filings, the company generated approximately €536 million in revenue in France during 2024, where it operates 377 stores.
Across Europe, the Marionnaud network comprises approximately 700 retail outlets, making it one of the continent's largest beauty and fragrance chains.
If the transaction proceeds, it would represent a significant development in the European beauty retail sector, potentially bringing one of the industry's best-known brands under the control of an investor with extensive experience in fragrances and cosmetics.
The discussions come as retailers across the beauty industry continue to adapt to evolving consumer habits, increased competition from online channels and changing market dynamics, making strategic acquisitions an important tool for strengthening market positions.
