Justice Ministry and DGSN Forge Alliance to Streamline Electronic Data Exchange

The Ministry of Justice and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) have taken a significant step towards modernizing judicial administration by signing an agreement to regulate and facilitate the exchange of electronic data.

A Strategic Accord for Enhanced Cooperation

The memorandum of understanding was signed today in Rabat, marking a pivotal moment in the quest to establish an integrated electronic judicial administration. This initiative aims to enable seamless access to information between the Ministry of Justice and the national police, promoting efficiency and transparency in judicial processes.

Charki Samia, Director of Modernization and Information Systems at the Ministry of Justice, and Lahcen Rhanim, Director of Information and Communication Systems at the DGSN, formalized the agreement in a ceremony overseen by Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahi.

Accelerating Judicial Procedures

In his remarks, Charki Samia highlighted the agreement's potential to "contribute to the acceleration of procedures and the reduction of processing times for judicial files." This streamlined approach is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of judicial operations, benefiting both legal professionals and the public.

Commitment to Secure Data Management

The agreement authorizes the DGSN to access updated data from the Ministry's information systems related to judicial affairs management. Lahcen Rhanim expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, underscoring DGSN's dedication to the project's successful implementation by allocating the necessary material and human resources.

A joint statement from both parties emphasized the importance of secure data management: "This agreement establishes the rules and channels for exchanging and using these data, by detailed standards related to the physical and digital security of the data, while fully respecting current laws and regulations, including the protection of citizens’ data."

Ensuring Data Protection

The Ministry of Justice and the DGSN have also reaffirmed their commitment to protecting personal data as they advance this project. The collaboration is designed to maintain strict adherence to existing laws and regulations, ensuring that the exchange of electronic data is conducted with the highest standards of security and privacy.

This agreement represents a significant milestone in the digital transformation of judicial administration in the country, setting the stage for more efficient, transparent, and secure judicial processes.

By embracing this collaborative approach, the Ministry of Justice and the DGSN are paving the way for a more integrated and responsive judicial system, ultimately enhancing the delivery of justice.
