Havelsan exports AI-powered video analytics system to Africa

Turkish defense technology company Havelsan has successfully exported its artificial intelligence-based video analytics system, EYEMINER, to an African country, marking a significant step in the international expansion of Türkiye’s high-tech defense software sector.

The export represents one of the first instances in which an advanced AI-driven surveillance solution developed in Turkey has been deployed abroad as a central component of a large-scale security and road safety initiative. The system is designed to enhance monitoring capabilities by operating continuously and detecting anomalies in real time.

A digital eye for complex security environments

EYEMINER functions as an integrated video analytics platform capable of identifying unusual patterns and alerting security operators instantly. Whether detecting traffic violations, stalled vehicles, suspicious movements, or unauthorized crossings, the system analyzes live data streams and transmits alerts to command centers.

Unlike conventional surveillance tools that rely heavily on human monitoring, EYEMINER operates through continuous algorithms that function 24 hours a day, reducing the risk of oversight caused by operator fatigue. The software is fully compatible with existing security infrastructure and can integrate seamlessly with broader command-and-control systems.

Already incorporated into the imaging infrastructure of the Turkish National Police, the platform has demonstrated its capacity to support traffic management, crowd monitoring and border control operations.

Advanced detection and tracking capabilities

Developed to meet diverse security needs, EYEMINER can be deployed in vehicles, public squares, stadiums and transportation hubs. The system is capable of detecting multiple objects simultaneously, including vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles and unattended items.

Its multi-object tracking technology enables authorities to trace movements across monitored areas. The software can automatically flag abnormal situations such as illegal turns, abandoned luggage or sudden increases in crowd density. It also includes license plate recognition features that allow vehicles to be cross-checked against security watchlists in real time.

In addition, facial recognition capabilities enhance the system’s precision in identifying individuals flagged in security databases.

With this export, Havelsan strengthens Türkiye’s position in the global defense technology market, signaling a shift toward the international commercialization of advanced AI-driven security solutions alongside traditional hardware platforms.
