Arson attack targets aesthetic clinic in Paris, residents evacuated overnight

An aesthetic clinic in Paris has been targeted in a suspected arson attack, forcing the evacuation of more than 20 residents from a nearby residential building during the night.

The incident occurred in the city’s 17th arrondissement, where two individuals reportedly broke into the clinic in the early hours before setting the premises on fire using a flammable substance. The blaze quickly spread to parts of the surrounding building, prompting an urgent response from emergency services.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames, but not before authorities evacuated 23 residents, including children, as a precautionary measure. Officials confirmed that several individuals sustained minor injuries, including a security guard who was hurt while attempting to intervene, as well as a police officer affected by smoke inhalation.

According to initial findings, the same clinic had already been targeted in a similar incident just days earlier, raising concerns about a deliberate and repeated act. Investigators are now exploring possible motives, including personal disputes or organized criminal activity.

The public prosecutor’s office in Paris has opened an investigation into aggravated property destruction using dangerous means and potential involvement in organized criminal activity. Judicial police units have been assigned to identify those responsible.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests, and the suspects remain at large. The case has drawn attention to safety concerns in urban areas and the risks posed by intentional fires in densely populated neighborhoods.

Local officials have reassured residents that security measures are being reinforced, while urging anyone with information to come forward to assist the ongoing investigation.
