Armani considers dividing 15% stake among luxury giants, report says
Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani is reportedly considering splitting a 15% ownership stake into three equal parts, potentially involving major luxury players including LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE, L'Oreal SA, and EssilorLuxottica SA.
According to reports, the plan is linked to the long-term succession strategy following the death of founder Giorgio Armani. The designer had previously expressed preferences for strategic partners who could support the future growth and stability of the brand.
Under the proposed structure, the initial stake sale would take place within 12 to 18 months after the founder’s death, in line with his succession arrangements. The aim is to ensure a controlled transition while maintaining the brand’s independence and identity.
Industry reports suggest that company leadership is preparing a detailed business plan and may appoint advisors to manage the process and engage with potential investors. These advisors would help present the group’s strategic vision to interested partners.
Splitting the stake into three equal portions is seen as a way to attract and retain the interest of all three luxury groups during the early stages of the process, while balancing competition and collaboration among major industry players.
The potential transaction highlights ongoing consolidation trends in the global luxury sector, where leading brands continue to strengthen portfolios through strategic investments and partnerships.
