Abdellatif Komat at Les Impériales Week: 'Human capital, a key driver of development'
The 8th edition of Les Impériales Week is in full swing in Casablanca, bringing together professionals from marketing, communication, and media under the theme "The Paradigm Shift – Business. People. Tech." Running until February 2, this flagship event delves into the transformative changes reshaping these industries and their impact on business strategies.
For years, Les Impériales Association has worked to highlight emerging trends and challenges in the sector, gathering experts, decision-makers, and innovators. This year, the discussions pivot around technological and societal transformations, with a particular focus on the evolution of human capital as a critical lever for economic growth.
Human capital: the engine of change
Abdellatif Komat, dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences at Hassan II University in Casablanca, underscored the pivotal role of human capital in driving these transformative shifts. Speaking at the event, he remarked:
"It was a pleasure and an honor to take part in Les Impériales Week, which this year addresses the paradigm shift. We have particularly emphasized the impact of current transformations on human capital and the need to fully integrate it into the process of change. Strengthening the connection between academia and the professional world is essential to tailor education to market developments."
He highlighted that equipping younger generations with adaptive tools such as leadership, communication, language proficiency, and personal development is crucial. Komat stressed the need for universities to evolve in order to effectively prepare students for the emerging challenges of the labor market.
Bridging academia and industry
Technological and economic shifts demand a rethinking of educational approaches. Komat emphasized the importance of constant dialogue between universities and businesses to align curricula with market demands:
"Today, jobs are evolving rapidly. It is vital to incorporate this reality into our education systems so young people can not only acquire technical skills but also develop their adaptability."
This perspective aligns with the broader goal of making Les Impériales Week a platform for dialogue among various stakeholders in the economic and academic ecosystem. The objective is clear: to create stronger synergies between higher education and industry needs, thereby enhancing employability and competitiveness among Morocco’s young talent.
As Morocco prepares to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, discussions surrounding skill development and innovation in marketing and communication fields take on heightened significance. The 2025 edition of Les Impériales Week reinforces its position as a think tank and springboard for the future of the country's creative and strategic industries.
