Empowering Africa's Digital Transformation at OTF 2025

The Northern Africa OTF (Operations Transformation Forum) 2025, hosted by Huawei during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, focused on the theme "Empowering African Digital Intelligence Transformation." The event brought together over 100 leaders from government, telecom operators, and industry organizations across the region. Attendees participated in in-depth discussions about digital transformation in the context of the global AI revolution, exchanging practical insights and experiences.

Huawei introduced xCare 3.0, marking the start of a new era of intelligent operations aimed at driving growth. Bruce Xun, President of Huawei's Global Technical Service Department, emphasized the importance of AI in transforming operations into valuable business assets. He stressed the need for human-AI collaboration, real-time data awareness, and high-quality training for AI models to enhance decision-making and unlock new opportunities. He also highlighted the shift from siloed data to a converged, "digital twin" approach.

Hicham Ennoure, vCEO of Moov Money Gabon, showcased the success of mobile money services, citing Moov Money's 84% user growth and 85% revenue increase in 2024. He attributed this success to rapid platform modernization and targeted marketing based on converged data.

Lassaad Ben Dhiab, Chairman and CEO of Tunisie Telecom, emphasized Tunisia's commitment to data-driven operations and its 5G and broadband strategies, aiming to build an intelligent infrastructure as the nation’s ICT backbone.

Moussa Yaro, CTO of Orange Mali, highlighted how the company's digital transformation strategy focuses on business and network synergy, leveraging data to drive user growth and market leadership.

Kam-Shing Fung, Vice President of Digital Operations Transformation at HKT, shared how HKT's journey towards autonomous network operations is powered by digital intelligence to improve business performance. He stressed the importance of creating Digital Native Organizations to thrive in the evolving ICT landscape.

Guy Lupo, EVP of AI & Data Innovation at TM Forum, discussed the need for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to adopt AI-native operating models that enhance efficiency and customer experience.

Jim Liu, President of Huawei Northern Africa Carrier Business, concluded by emphasizing that digital and intelligent transformation is key to solving challenges and unlocking value. He celebrated the achievements of the Digital Operations Transformation Pioneer Club and called for greater collaboration in advancing digital intelligence.

The Mobile World Congress 2025, held from March 3-6 in Barcelona, also saw Huawei present its latest innovations, including a showcase at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1.
