Morocco's new fintech hub aims to transform digital finance landscape

Morocco has marked a significant milestone in its financial technology sector with the launch of the Morocco Fintech Center (MFC) in Rabat. The center's inaugural board meeting, chaired by Bank Al-Maghrib Governor Abdellatif Jouahri, signals a coordinated push to advance the country's digital financial services.

At its core, the MFC will serve as a comprehensive platform supporting fintech companies through specialized programs focusing on incubation, acceleration, and capacity building. The center aims to streamline access to financing while helping companies navigate regulatory requirements.

The initiative brings together influential stakeholders from both public and private sectors. Key founding members include the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Bank Al-Maghrib, the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, alongside major financial institutions such as Attijariwafa Bank and Bank of Africa.

By establishing a collaborative ecosystem, the MFC seeks to nurture partnerships and drive innovation in Morocco's financial technology sector. The center remains open to welcoming additional organizations, highlighting its commitment to growth and inclusivity as it works to establish Morocco as a prominent fintech destination.
