Casablanca Strengthens Its Security Measures Against Crime and Fugitives

A large-scale security operation has been underway since the beginning of the week in several areas of Casablanca. Supervised by the director of the judicial police, Mohamed Dkhissi, this campaign specifically targets individuals with outstanding warrants as well as areas facing various forms of delinquency.

The economic capital is experiencing a significant enhancement of its security measures. Since the start of the week, several interventions have been conducted in different neighborhoods to target individuals wanted by the authorities and to prevent behaviors that could disrupt public safety.

This operation is being carried out under the instructions of Abdellatif Hammouchi, the director general of national security and territorial surveillance. Mohamed Dkhissi, director of the judicial police and the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Morocco, is directly overseeing part of the operations on the ground.

Targeted Operations in Several Neighborhoods

Arriving in Casablanca last Saturday, the security official began monitoring the interventions in various sectors identified for their criminal activity or recent security incidents the following day.

The initial operations focused on the Anfa area. Several individuals suspected of involvement in criminal activities were arrested, while others wanted at the national level were also apprehended.

The operation was then expanded to Hay Hassani, where authorities particularly focused on certain behaviors deemed dangerous for residents and road users.

Nighttime Street Racing Under Scrutiny

Among the targeted phenomena are nighttime street races organized on certain routes leading to Hay Hassani. These practices pose risks to other drivers and pedestrians, while also causing noise disturbances for residents.

The teams involved in this campaign are intervening at several points considered sensitive. The strategy relies on an increased presence of security forces and enhanced surveillance in areas where delinquent acts are regularly reported.

A Campaign Set to Expand

Mohamed Dkhissi is monitoring the progress of the operations and coordinating interventions with the teams mobilized on the ground. The goal is also to identify individuals with outstanding warrants and to strengthen their location and apprehension.

According to information reported by the press, the operation is expected to gradually extend to other sectors of Casablanca in the coming days.

Beyond arrests, this campaign reflects the authorities' commitment to enhance security presence in the metropolis and combat various forms of crime and delinquency. Operations are therefore expected to continue in several areas of the city, with particular attention paid to sectors deemed priorities.
