Police shoot aggressive dog after attack at Azrou station

A police officer in Azrou used a service weapon during an incident at the entrance of a police station in the early hours of 8 June. The intervention followed a situation involving a man and a dog that unfolded at the site.

A man aged 32 in a state of alcohol intoxication threatened officers with a bladed weapon. He also incited a dog to attack a police officer positioned at the entrance of the station. The dog moved toward the officer during the confrontation.

The officer fired multiple shots to stop the attack. The dog was neutralized during the response. Police then arrested the suspect at the scene. A search carried out on him led to the recovery of a bladed weapon and a blunt object.

The suspect was placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor. An investigation was opened to establish the circumstances of the incident and determine the motives behind the actions.
