Hong Kong: Black boxes recovered after cargo plane crash

Authorities in Hong Kong have successfully retrieved the black boxes from a cargo plane that crashed last Monday, killing two people. The aircraft, a Boeing 744, veered off the runway during landing, collided with a security patrol vehicle, and ended up in the sea.

Airport officials said one of the engines and the landing gear were also recovered. The flight data recorders are expected to provide crucial information on the cause of the accident.

The preliminary investigation report will be published within a month. Investigators from the United States and Turkey, along with Boeing experts, are assisting in the inquiry. The aircraft was operated by ACT Airlines, a Turkish cargo carrier based in Istanbul.
