A Swiss indoor music festival has announced the postponement of a scheduled concert by French singer Patrick Bruel, following the emergence of multiple sexual violence allegations against him.

The Bellarena Indoor Festival, which was set to host the artist on June 26 in Fribourg, stated that it had decided to suspend the performance indefinitely in order to allow judicial authorities to examine the ongoing legal situation with the necessary distance and objectivity.

Organizers explained that the decision was taken in a spirit of caution and respect for all parties involved, including the artist, the audience, and those making the allegations. They added that under the current circumstances, it would not be possible to properly promote or host the event in a calm environment.

The singer, who is scheduled to begin his tour in Paris before performing in several cities across France, Switzerland, and Belgium, is facing multiple legal complaints in France and an investigation in Belgium. He has denied all allegations.

The controversy has already led to the cancellation of several concerts in Canada and has sparked debate among local authorities in various cities regarding his scheduled appearances.

Other Swiss festival appearances remain on the calendar for now, although organizers have indicated that future programming may be reassessed depending on legal developments.
