Rabat to host inaugural Arab-African summit on non-profit financing

Rabat is set to host the first Arab-African Summit on Non-Profit Financing on November 20, marking a groundbreaking step in fostering solidarity and cooperation between Africa and the Arab world. The event, organized by EPIK Leaders, seeks to redefine financial strategies for social impact in response to mounting challenges and diminishing government funding.

A platform for innovative solutions

The summit will bring together key stakeholders, including government officials, investors, non-profits, and academics, to explore sustainable and inclusive financing models. Discussions will focus on four strategic pillars:

1- Reimagining traditional funding models: Diversifying fundraising sources to reduce reliance on conventional aid and foreign donors.

2- Leveraging Islamic finance and social impact investment: Utilizing tools such as Zakat and Waqf for transformative development.

3- Enhancing transparency and governance: Promoting accountability through financial and digital technologies to build donor trust.

4 - Fostering cross-regional partnerships: Encouraging collaboration between public institutions, private enterprises, and civil society groups across the Arab and African regions.

Participants aim to devise a joint action plan, initiate pilot projects, and establish a collaborative forum for ongoing dialogue and innovation.

A movement for collective empowerment

The summit is a direct expression of EPIK Leaders’ vision to empower youth and social entrepreneurs across Africa. Founded in January 2025 by Mahmoud Cherkaoui Salhi and Dr. Nizar Chaari, the organization has grown into a network of 50,000 members and 550 clubs spanning over 15 African countries.

EPIK Leaders has extended an open invitation to institutions interested in joining this regional movement through panel discussions, presentations, and collaborations. Its mission is to equip young leaders and civil society actors with the tools to address contemporary challenges and create a self-sustaining future.

By hosting the summit, Rabat positions itself as a hub for transformative dialogue, uniting two regions in a shared commitment to turning solidarity into actionable strategies and charitable efforts into lasting impact.
