Public service shifts toward more effective and transparent indicators
In Rabat, experts gathered to explore new approaches to evaluating public service governance during a roundtable organized by Institution of the Mediator of the Kingdom in partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
Discussions highlighted the evolving role of performance indicators, which are increasingly seen as essential tools for analysis, performance measurement, and assessing the real impact of public policies. Speakers emphasized that these indicators are no longer limited to statistical tracking but are becoming central to decision-making processes.
During the event, Hassan Tariq stressed the importance of establishing a national network of indicators capable of meeting growing demands for transparency, accountability, and institutional reform. He also underlined the need to ensure the quality of these tools by focusing on reliability, clarity, and relevance.
Participants agreed that developing robust indicators is a key lever for improving the relationship between public administrations and citizens. Such tools can enhance trust, streamline services, and increase the effectiveness of public policies.
The roundtable featured two main sessions focusing on rights-based indicators and mediation mechanisms, both seen as critical components in building a more efficient, results-oriented public governance system.
