Partially burned body found near hardware store in Marseille
Authorities in Marseille discovered a partially burned body near a hardware store in the Saint-Loup district during the night from Sunday to Monday. The marins-pompiers (firefighters) were initially responding to a blaze involving trash and brush when they made the grim discovery.
Police have launched an investigation. Preliminary reports suggest the victim, estimated to be in their forties, has not yet been identified. The incident comes weeks after a nearby attempted abduction, in which armed assailants fired at a car and forced a young man into a vehicle before releasing him in the same parking area.
Authorities are examining any possible connections between the two incidents as part of their ongoing investigation.
