New Direct Air Route between Agadir and Amsterdam

A new direct flight route linking Agadir and Amsterdam was officially launched on Tuesday. The inaugural flight, operated by Transavia, a low-cost airline under the Air France group, landed at Agadir Al Massira Airport from Amsterdam International Airport with 176 passengers on board.

According to the Agadir Souss Massa Regional Tourism Council, this new route is part of a partnership between the Souss Massa Regional Council and the tourism council. It aims to strengthen Agadir and the Souss Massa region’s presence in the Dutch tourism market.

The addition of this route enhances Agadir’s international connectivity, as the airport currently serves more than 30 international destinations operated by various airlines. It also complements domestic flights linking Agadir to cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Tangier, Laayoune, and Dakhla.

The National Airports Office has announced plans to expand Agadir Al Massira Airport to modernize and enlarge its infrastructure. This project aligns with Morocco’s "Airports 2030" strategy, which prepares the country for hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The initiative aims to solidify Morocco’s position as a key hub for air travel in Africa and globally.
