Morocco opens submissions for 23rd National Press Grand Prix competition

Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication has officially launched the 23rd edition of the National Press Grand Prix (GPNP), coinciding with National Information Day. This prestigious event celebrates excellence in journalism across Morocco, recognizing outstanding contributions in various fields of media and creative reporting.

Wide range of categories

The competition spans multiple categories, including television, radio, written press, electronic press, press agencies, and regional media. Special awards will honor excellence in Amazigh journalism, cultural and Sahrawi Hassani reporting, photography, investigative journalism, and editorial caricature.

Additionally, an honorary prize will be presented to a distinguished national figure for lifetime achievements in journalism, while another award will recognize Moroccan journalists working for international media outlets.

Eligibility and submission rules

To participate, applicants must be Moroccan citizens with a valid press card for 2025 and at least three years of professional experience in national or regional media. Candidates may apply individually or as part of a team. However, members of the organizing committee or jury and previous winners from the last three editions are not eligible.

Each submission must include one piece published or broadcast between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025. For the photography category, candidates may submit up to ten works. All entries must remain accessible on electronic platforms until the winners are announced.

Applications can be submitted directly by journalists or nominated by their media outlets. Participants must submit five physical copies of their work to the GPNP Organizing Committee at the Communication Department’s headquarters or via email, along with the official application form available on the Ministry’s website. The deadline for submissions is October 10, 2025.

Promoting professional excellence

The National Press Grand Prix underscores Morocco’s dedication to fostering high standards of professionalism, creativity, and ethical practices within the journalism sector. By recognizing exceptional talent, the competition aims to inspire a culture of innovation and excellence in the country’s media landscape.
