In a significant move to bolster diplomatic relations, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, engaged in a telephone conversation with his Japanese counterpart, Kamikawa Yoko. The dialogue focused on reinforcing the robust connections between the two nations.

According to Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers discussed the promising state of bilateral relations and explored avenues for further enhancement. This dialogue follows the “Memorandum of Cooperation for a Reinforced Partnership” signed in May, which aims to expand collaboration across multiple sectors.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the conversation lasted around 20 minutes. Minister Kamikawa expressed her satisfaction with the opportunity to engage with Minister Bourita once more, following their previous meeting in May. She reaffirmed Japan’s dedication to nurturing the amicable relations with Morocco, underlining the significance of the recently signed memorandum.

The ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties and discussed potential collaboration through platforms such as the Japan-Arab Economic Forum and the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).

Concluding their discussion, both ministers agreed to maintain close communication to ensure ongoing cooperation and mutual benefit.
