The national headquarters of La France insoumise (LFI) in Paris was evacuated on Wednesday following a bomb threat, according to party coordinator Manuel Bompard.

In a message published on social media, Bompard stated that police were deployed to the scene and that all staff members and activists present in the building had been brought to safety. The headquarters are located in the 10th arrondissement of the French capital.

Police inspection under way

Party representatives confirmed that several employees were inside the premises when authorities arrived and were instructed to leave the building as a precaution. Law enforcement officers conducted a security sweep to verify the credibility of the threat and ensure there was no immediate danger.

No injuries were reported, and officials did not immediately provide further details about the origin of the threat.

Heightened political tensions

The evacuation comes amid a tense political climate following the death of a nationalist activist in Lyon, an incident that has intensified exchanges between political groups across the country.

LFI lawmaker Clémence Guetté, vice president of the National Assembly, denounced what she described as attempts to exploit a tragic event to target her party. She argued that a line had been crossed and called for an end to what she characterized as inflammatory rhetoric.

Another LFI figure, Paul Vannier, accused political opponents of fueling hostility toward the movement by linking it to the broader controversy surrounding the Lyon case.

Political reactions

The unfolding situation has further deepened divisions within France’s political landscape. While security authorities focused on assessing the bomb threat, public debate continued over responsibility for escalating tensions.
