Morocco’s cement deliveries approach 11 million tonnes by end-September 2026
Morocco’s cement market maintained a broadly positive trajectory through the first nine months of 2026, with total deliveries approaching 11 million tonnes, according to figures released by the Ministry of National Land Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy.
The volume reached nearly 11 million tonnes by the end of September, representing a 1.17% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The modest year-on-year rise points to continued demand from construction and infrastructure activities, despite variations across individual market segments.
Distribution remains the largest outlet
Distribution accounted for the largest share of cement deliveries during the January-September period, reaching 5.79 million tonnes. Ready-mix concrete followed with 2.95 million tonnes, reflecting sustained requirements from construction projects using industrially prepared concrete.
Deliveries to the precast concrete segment stood at 1.03 million tonnes, while infrastructure projects absorbed 842,520 tonnes. The building segment accounted for 314,493 tonnes, and mortars represented a smaller volume of 46,690 tonnes.
The breakdown highlights the diversity of cement demand in Morocco, with distribution and concrete-related activities representing the dominant channels over the period.
September brings sharper acceleration
The market recorded a stronger monthly performance in September. Cement deliveries reached approximately 1.46 million tonnes, compared with nearly 1.22 million tonnes in September 2025.
That represents a 19.31% year-on-year increase, making September considerably more dynamic than the cumulative growth recorded over the first nine months.
The contrast between the annual and monthly figures suggests that the sector entered the final quarter with a noticeable increase in cement demand, although the available figures do not indicate whether this acceleration will continue through the remainder of the year.
Industry data reflect major cement producers
The statistics are based on internal data supplied by members of the Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers (APC).
The association's reporting companies include Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc and Novacim, which joined the APC in January 2024.
With cement consumption closely linked to construction, housing and infrastructure activity, the latest figures provide an important indicator of the pace of Morocco’s building-materials market. The near-11-million-tonne cumulative volume also places the sector on a slightly higher trajectory than at the same point last year.
